On Monday evening, we joined over fifty women of the Maple Village WI at The Copper Kettle in Surbiton, for an evening of mindfulness, creativity and drawing.

It was a lovely atmosphere, where the ladies were introduced to mindfulnesses (most for the very first time), exercised their creativity with two drawing challenges, practiced focusing the mind in meditation and drew emotions and experiences with Story Spheres.

SketchBetter at Turner Contemporary: Sat 6 Feb

On Saturday 6th February we are heading to Margate, to run a Mindful Drawing afternoon at the Turner Contemporary, one of the UK’s leading art galleries. This wonderful seafront gallery opened in 2011 in celebration of British painter J. M. W. Turner’s relationship to the town.

From 1-4pm, we’re taking over the Learning Space as part of the Opening Celebration Day of Danish artist Joachim Koester’s first UK solo exhibition The Other Side of the Sky (Fri 5 Feb – Sun 8 May 2016).

Mindful Creativity Workshop in Kingston

This Sunday (20th December), I’m running a one-off Mindful Creativity drawing class for adults. In the class you will learn a mindful meditation technique, designed to calm and focus the mind. You’ll then have the chance to do your very own Story Sphere – a drawing technique designed to bring awareness of your present feelings.

SketchBetter Kids – Canvas Painting – Inspired by Piet Mondrian

NEW Kids Art Club in Kingston to teach Creativity and Mindfulness

We’re excited to introduce SketchBetter’s sparkly *NEW* six-week Art Club for Kids, led by me – Artist, Designer and Positive Psychology champion Kate Andrews.

The six-week course – running from 12 November to 17 December 2015, every Thursday after school from 4.30-6pm at Cass Art Kingston – will take participating children on a journey through the nature of creativity and human imagination.
