Yoga at the Story Spheres Exhibition

On Sunday we held our first yoga class – with Muriel Mueller of MuMu Yoga – at the Story Spheres Exhibition and what a lovely energy. The sun was beaming into the gallery and the room full of people ready for a 45 minute yoga class.

We’ve got a second class this Sunday (25 October), from 10-10.45am. It’s a drop-in class, first come, first serve and £8 each. They’ll be weekly Sunday morning classes coming up in November at Cass Art too. Stay tuned for details.

We’ve also got an exciting workshop coming up next week, on ArtYoga! Led by artist Kate Andrews (Founder, SketchBetter) and yoga teacher Muriel Mueller (Founder, MuMu Yoga).

During this workshop there’ll be a guided yoga class from which you’ll then be taking learnings and insights to paper and expressing your energy, emotions and physical movements through visual art. You will also explore the seven chakras (nerve centres in the human body), their colours and how they relate to your happiness and wellbeing.

“The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. There are seven main chakras, which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. To visualize a chakra in the body, imagine a swirling wheel of energy where matter and consciousness meet. This invisible energy, called Prana, is vital life force, which keeps us vibrant, healthy, and alive.” – Chopra Centre
